This Privacy Policy describes the policies and procedures of Athanasso (referred to as "We", "Us", "Our", or "Developer") regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Your information when You use the Doomscroll Detox mobile application (the "Service", or "App").

Types of Data Collected

Doomscroll Detox is designed to help you build better digital habits. Your privacy is paramount. The App does not collect, transmit, or store personally identifiable information (such as your name, email, or contacts) on any external servers.

The App utilizes specific on-device APIs and third-party services as follows:

• Accessibility Service API: Used exclusively to detect active social media/endless scrolling applications on your screen to enforce your configured schedule constraints and block the doomscrolling loop. This monitoring is done entirely locally. We do not extract, log, or upload any content from your screen or apps to any server.
• Usage Data: Anonymous usage data and crash reports may be collected automatically by the framework or App stores to help us improve stability and fix bugs.

Permissions Required by the App

To provide its core functionality, Doomscroll Detox requires the following permissions on your device:

• Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE): The core requirement to monitor the foreground app state and interrupt a doomscrolling session.
• Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Used to overlay the blocking screen when an app session exceeds your specified limits.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to keep you informed about your remaining time, provide warnings ("Starting Soon", "Time is up!"), and display persistent controls if configured.
• Receive Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Required to automatically restart background services and the accessibility checker when your phone is rebooted.
• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE): Required to keep the service running reliably in the background to ensure schedules are respected.

All your usage limits, history, and custom schedules are stored locally on your device and are never shared.

Retention of Your Data

Since the Developer does not collect personal data directly through Doomscroll Detox, we do not store personal records. All configuration and app usage patterns are stored locally on your device and can be erased by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
